Google working on Steam support for Chromebooks

It seems that this is the perfect time to buy some Steam cards because Google is working with Valve to offer Steam support for Chromebooks. When you think about Chromebooks, you don’t really see them as gaming machines. Apparently Google is trying to make them such a thing, so it’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together in the end here. Exciting news for Chromebook users Since these are low power devices, it’ll be interesting to see what type of gaming will be possible here. Mostly indies we presume, or games that don’t require a huge amount of power. Apparently, this feature will target the more powerful Chromebooks that have AMD processors.Steam Thumbnail Casual titles and even some of the older games will run just fine on these machines. But something new can be extremely challenging and difficult, and that’s exactly one of the things that you’ll need to take into consideration. It’s certainly a great way to bring more people into the mix and embrace the technology we have available. What games will be playable is hard to say. But as we said, older titles are definitely a target here. Hopefully more and more people will get to play classic games, and if they can adapt some of the newer titles to work on Chromebooks that will certainly be amazing. These are the tools of choice especially for students, but some complained due to the lack of gaming features. It’s nice to see that Google strives to offer some support. A great, rewarding way to play games We like the fact that Google is focused on offering more support and value to customers, it’s a great idea and it certainly comes with amazing benefits for users. At the end of the day, you are paying for a computer, so you want to make the most out of it. Just try to give it a shot, use it wisely and you will find that it works incredibly well. Overall, the idea of having Steam on Chromebooks is definitely making us buy Steam cards. It’s a great opportunity and it will bring in front some interesting ways to push things to that next level. You will find it quite interesting to see that Google is working towards making Chromebooks more accessible and rewarding, so you should totally consider getting one especially if you want to also game on it at times!

Gamer Customer of the Week – Jovanni

This week, we are featuring Jovanni from Jamaica! We sent him some questions to learn a bit about what he loves most about gaming, and how he’s using our PSN cards.

How old are you, and where are you located?

I’m 24 and I am located in Jamaica.

Tell us something special or unique about where you live, or why you like it?

I live in Jamaica and it’s special for producing both the Fastest Man and Woman alive. It’s also famous for our beaches and many rivers. Those facts along with the great people and awesome food is what I like most about Jamaica.

What kind of system/console are you gaming on? (Generation, Tech specs, etc)

I am currently using a PS4 Slim for gaming purposes.

What is your gamer tag?

I don’t even remember right now! I’m at work now, so I can’t access my PS4.

How long have you been gaming? PSN Thumbnail

Well a small secret, just since Dec 25 lol… I grew up poor so my parents were never able to get me gaming consoles, but I was able to experience using them from time to time over the years by visiting the homes of friends who had them. It wasn’t until December 2019 that I decided that I’ve been working for some time now so why not splurge and get myself a console to fulfill the dreams of my inner child.

What was your first video game? Tell us your favorite story about it.

Need for Speed Most Wanted.. when I first had a chance to play this game back when I was a teenager, I was amazed. I saw all of my favorite cars from movies right in front of my eyes. It was awesome to be able to use them and make believe I was really a race car driver Street racing in a Lamborghini Gallardo.

What games do you currently play?

Well currently because of MyGiftCardSupply I have been able to purchase several games from the PSN, and I kind of started playing them all at first. But I’ve calmed down now and focus mainly on completing the campaign for Just Cause 3

How much time do you currently spend gaming?

Well at least 3-4 hours. When I work, I don’t do much gaming during the week, but on the weekends I sometimes go as long as 7 or 8 hrs.

Have you entered any gaming competitions? If so, which ones?

Not yet. I have solely been focusing on single player offline games as I am still new to all of this, but eventually I will switch over to online so maybe in year time we can do another survey 🙂

What in your opinion makes for a good video game?

Nice graphics, good gaming physics but ultimately, an awesome storyline.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite?

I’ve done much PC gaming and one thing I know is aiming in FPS games is sure better with a mouse, but I also love mobile gaming and console gaming. I think I’ll consider myself neutral right now.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment?

Not sure, still pretty new to the arena so no comments as of yet.

Why do you use MyGiftCardSupply to purchase gift cards?

Well I tried using my credit card to purchase directly from the PSN but that wouldn’t work. Then I learned about gift cards and tried Amazon, but I didn’t want to wait a week to get them. That’s when I learned about MyGiftCardSupply and as Jamaicans would say… #ItsTheBestThingSinceSlicedBread

What other things interest you, besides gaming?

Fishing and nature watching.
