If you can come back to a game and it feels as good as the first time you played it, then it’s a good game.

How long have you been gaming? PSN Thumbnail

Well a small secret, just since Dec 25 lol… I grew up poor so my parents were never able to get me gaming consoles, but I was able to experience using them from time to time over the years by visiting the homes of friends who had them. It wasn’t until December 2019 that I decided that I’ve been working for some time now so why not splurge and get myself a console to fulfill the dreams of my inner child.

What was your first video game? Tell us your favorite story about it.

Need for Speed Most Wanted.. when I first had a chance to play this game back when I was a teenager, I was amazed. I saw all of my favorite cars from movies right in front of my eyes. It was awesome to be able to use them and make believe I was really a race car driver Street racing in a Lamborghini Gallardo.

What games do you currently play?

Well currently because of MyGiftCardSupply I have been able to purchase several games from the PSN, and I kind of started playing them all at first. But I’ve calmed down now and focus mainly on completing the campaign for Just Cause 3

How much time do you currently spend gaming?

Well at least 3-4 hours. When I work, I don’t do much gaming during the week, but on the weekends I sometimes go as long as 7 or 8 hrs.

Have you entered any gaming competitions? If so, which ones?

Not yet. I have solely been focusing on single player offline games as I am still new to all of this, but eventually I will switch over to online so maybe in year time we can do another survey 🙂

What in your opinion makes for a good video game?

Nice graphics, good gaming physics but ultimately, an awesome storyline.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite?

I’ve done much PC gaming and one thing I know is aiming in FPS games is sure better with a mouse, but I also love mobile gaming and console gaming. I think I’ll consider myself neutral right now.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment?

Not sure, still pretty new to the arena so no comments as of yet.

Why do you use MyGiftCardSupply to purchase gift cards?

Well I tried using my credit card to purchase directly from the PSN but that wouldn’t work. Then I learned about gift cards and tried Amazon, but I didn’t want to wait a week to get them. That’s when I learned about MyGiftCardSupply and as Jamaicans would say… #ItsTheBestThingSinceSlicedBread

What other things interest you, besides gaming?

Fishing and nature watching.

The 10 best games to play on your new PlayStation 4

Now that you got your PSN cards, it’s a great idea to figure out what the best games are out there to play. With that in mind, there are some extraordinary PS4 games to try out. We’ve done the hard work for you and listed them below.

The Last of Us Remastered

This game is well worth trying out because it allows you to enjoy a post-apocalyptic drama where you can explore the world and see what’s left of it. The combat is great, you’ll also have some stealth in there as well.

Judgement

Judgement is a crime solving game with lots of cinematics, so if you like puzzles or a police-inspired series, this is pretty much a no-brainer. You should totally check it out.

Until Dawn

Until Dawn is a cool and fun because it’s a choice driven horror game. You get to choose whether the main characters live or die based on your actions, which is a nice feature to the game.

Tetris EffectPSN thumbnail

Sometimes you simply want to play a fun arcade game. Tetris Effect gives you that with some amazing visuals and good quality. Everyone loves Tetris, right? You will certainly love it since it’s a great, visually appealing way to play Tetris.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

It’s easy to see why The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on this list. This is one of the best open world RPG games of the decade. It’s huge, very well written and it sprawls of life.

Nioh

Most people love Nioh. It’s a Dark Souls-like game with the action set in Japan. The mythology is amazing, the gameplay is great, and you will certainly enjoy the experience.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Speaking of Dark Souls, you have the successor Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice which is a very good title with the action also set in feudal Japan. It’s very challenging, true, but it has a rich story and the gameplay as well as the locations themselves are stunning.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Finally, a Star Wars game that’s really good. This one has intense gameplay ideas, it’s very easy to play and it has lightsaber combat, open world exploration and puzzle solving.

Control

Control is a very good game that has stunning visuals, very good game mechanics and a plethora of interesting locations to explore. The physics and graphics are off the charts too, so this is incredible as well.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding is one of those games that can be hard to understand at first. But it’s that cryptic gameplay and uniqueness that really makes it one of the coolest experiences in gaming for 2019. There’s no shortage of good games on the PS4. But if you haven’t tried out Fortnite’s Chapter 2, make sure to check that out as well!

Gamer Customer of the Week – Zia

This week, we are featuring Zia from Thailand! We sent him some questions to learn a bit about what he loves most about gaming, and how he’s using our PSN cards.

How old are you, and where are you located?

I’m 30 years old, and live in Thailand.

Tell us something special or unique about where you live, or why you like it?

The official divorce rate for Thailand is 0.058 per 10,000 people. This is low compared to the US with 53 per 10,000 people.

What kind of system/console are you gaming on? (Generation, Tech specs, etc)

PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch

What is your gamer tag?

Autismosis_Jones

How long have you been gaming?

Since I was five.

What was your first video game? Tell us your favorite story about it.

My first game was Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for the Nintendo 64. My father played it with me religiously. It was a great bonding experience for us.

What games do you currently play?

Destiny 2, Master Chief Collection, Doom, CSGO, Insurgency Sandstorm, World of Warcraft, Half-Life 2 (w/ mods), Total War: Warhammer 2, Escape From Tarkov, Left 4 Dead 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man

How much time do you currently spend gaming?

30-50 hours a week.

Have you entered any gaming competitions? If so, which ones?

N/A

What in your opinion makes for a good video game?

Solid story, writing, voice acting, and a gameplay loop that is accessible for everyone, but can still be appropriately challenging for experienced players when set to higher difficulties.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite?

I rank it like this: PC Gaming > Console Gaming > Mobile Gaming. But they all serve a unique purpose, and I do my best not to judge a gamer for what platform they prefer.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment?

More support for independent developers.

Why do you use MyGiftCardSupply to purchase gift cards?

Because I can’t use my Thai credit card to purchase PS store credit on my US PSN account. It’s a huge pain in the butt, and MyGiftCardSupply is the only website that has the common sense to understand that some Americans live overseas w/ an American PSN account.

What other things interest you, besides gaming?

Physical fitness, reading, writing, and mentoring young men.

Thank you Zia for participating in MyGiftCardSupply’s Gamer Customer of the Week!

Gamer Customer of the Week – Stefan

This week, we are featuring Stefan from Serbia! We sent him some questions to learn a bit about what he loves most about gaming, and how he’s using our PSN cards.

How old are you, and where are you located?

I’m 28 years old and I’m from Belgrade, Serbia.

Tell us something special or unique about where you live, or why you like it?

In Belgrade (Serbia) we have amazing food, great parties and beautiful weather – the city is always alive. But what stands out the most are definitely the people and our hospitality – we are always up for having some fun, and you cannot say no to some good Rakija 😀 I personally live next to a huge forest, and I love having fresh air while being just 20mins from the city center. A fun fact regarding Belgrade as a capital – Serbia has officially ‘owned’ it the least cumulative time in it’s history, which tells a lot about how many nations and countries occupied us during our history which goes back to the 11th century. But we always prevail. The most unique thing though is probably Yugoslavia, and I really recommend you Google it – an incredible history lesson. There’s also this thing about our language – it is the only one in the world where you write the words as you say them (and vice-versa), so there’s basically no spelling as such. But the grammar is really hard 😀

What kind of system/console are you gaming on? (Generation, Tech specs, etc)

PS4 99% of the time, but I do play Red Alert 2 (Mental Omega 3 mod) on my laptop. (And in case you’re into Xbox, they’re coming out with two new consoles next year.)

What is your gamer tag?

watchwolf_501st

How long have you been gaming?

Since I can remember 😀 I started with Sega Mega Drive 2 when I was 5 years old, which was in 1996.

What was your first video game? Tell us your favorite story about it.

It was Sonic on Sega. I remember I had three cartridges at the time, Sonic, Aladdin and I think NBA Live 95, but I played Sonic the most by far. It took me a couple of months to get to the final level and the showdown with Doctor Robotnik. If I remember correctly, the level was basically a bridge which Robotnik was gradually destroying, and since the screen was locked from moving left to right, you had to defeat him before he destroys the bridge completely. I played that level for a couple of days on and off, got close to winning a couple of times, but alas was failing over and over. I got so frustrated that I started yelling loudly every time I would die, which my mom heard and would come to the room to see what was happening. I explained my problem, she grabbed the joystick and defeated Robotnik in her second or third try. I was baffled honestly, but I love it – my mom not even knowing what exactly she did, in such an iconic game.

What games do you currently play? PSN Thumbnail

Right now I mostly play Rocket League, Fallout 4, Outer Worlds, Ace Combat 7 and Onrush. Oh, and Absolute Drift – that game is just phenomenal.

How much time do you currently spend gaming?

On average an hour or two a day, but I try to manage a half or full day gaming sessions at least once a month.

Have you entered any gaming competitions? If so, which ones?

Not really. I did play American football professionally for 5 years, so I never did have a drive to compete in video games with anyone besides my friends – I use them to relax and explore the worlds as well as myself.

What in your opinion makes for a good video game?

I would say primarily a good narrative. It really depends on the game, but it all comes down to the story the game is trying to convey. It’s like when you visit different cities, and some of them have a soul and a ‘real’ story, while others seem artificial regardless of how impressive they are or how tall they make the buildings. The cities that you feel most comfortable in are those which have something concrete to say, they have a story, and they expand and grow based on the needs and wants of the humans living in them, not because a city government decided to build a huge skyscraper primarily because it will make money. It’s the same with video games. In the case of games which do not need to rely on the narrative per se (such as Rocket League or CoD multiplayer) it comes down to how the mechanics and the whole player UX is implemented, and what drives me to play the game – the incentives, the intrinsic (or extrinsic) value I get from playing and progressing, and so on.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite?

Console gaming is my favorite for two reasons – affordability, meaning I can buy a console and play it without upgrades for years) and ease of use, meaning I do not have to ‘reinstall’ my console like I do my PC every year or a couple of months because reasons. When it comes to PS ecosystem specifically, I see Sony as a good guy in general, both in the terms of service and pricing, and it just suits me perfectly. That said, PC is a master race when it comes to performance in general, and that will stay the case until we move on to purely streaming games or something similar. When it comes to mobile it’s just not an experience I’m looking for. I would say it lacks the immersiveness I strive for when I play games – a small screen just doesn’t do it for me, and I do not like to play games to pass the time but to enjoy them like a good book (in the case of Outer Worlds for example) or to completely focus on the play (in the case of Rocket League), which I just cannot do on mobile on the move. And if I’m home, I have my PS4, so  I rarely play games on mobile.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment?

NFTs for sure. My kick-ass gun can become my kick-ass car in a different game – how awesome is that? 😀 But we still have some ways to go until we get there. It would be awesome for me primarily because the reward of playing any game would be that much greater, apart from me playing it because I like it for whatever reason, regardless of the rewards and incentives.

Why do you use MyGiftCardSupply to purchase gift cards?

I used to go to G2A for my gift cards, but we all know how that platform ended up. A friend of mine told me about you guys, and once I tried it that was it – the fees are acceptable, the service is perfect, and most importantly – I trust you guys 🙂

What other things interest you, besides gaming?

I’m a business developer, so I like systems analysis of any kind – even if it is not tied to my work directly. I’m currently with the blockchain development studio (mvpworkshop.co), so I would definitely add blockchain as well. Besides that, I play a lot of sports (from beach volleyball to skiing), I’m making my own board game with some friends, and I love sci-fi in general – the 20 year remaster of Star Wars When we had a census in Serbia in 2011, I registered my official religion as ‘Jedi’, and I have a Jedi insignia tattooed on the back of my shoulder, so that says a lot about me 😀

If you’d like to find out more about Stefan check him out on Instagram: @dzedajev (it means ‘the one who belongs to the Jedi’ in Serbian)

Thank you Stefan for participating in MyGiftCardSupply’s Gamer Customer of the Week!

Microsoft & Sony Teaming up for Gaming

Although Microsoft and Sony are known to compete with their consoles in the gaming world, the reality is that they both have similar interests. And we have an announcement that will make you want to buy some PSN cards and Xbox cards. Apparently, both companies are looking to collaborate in order to create some future cloud solutions. The announcement of Google Stadia seems to imply that Google wants to enter the video game world, and both Microsoft and Sony might be scared by the competition. Still, having a collaboration between these two companies that we always saw as rivals is quite unexpected. We do expect them to clash as they work with one another, but for now it seems that they both have a great goal in sight.

Why is Sony working with Microsoft? Don’t they have their own cloud gaming platform?

Sony has had its PlayStation for a long time, but the platform isn’t too powerful. They don’t have a cloud Xbox & PlayStation Thumbnailinfrastructure like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google have. So they had to rely on working with Microsoft to get this project started. It’s definitely not the simplest thing out there, but it does push the boundaries a bit and that’s the thing that really matters, especially in a situation like this. Through this deal, Sony gets to work with Microsoft to boost its cloud system and even leverage the Azure technology. None of the companies have native streaming services right now, and that’s a shame because there are many challenges that come from that. But the game libraries are there, everything is in place aside from good technology that will help with cloud gaming. And while that might not seem easy to do at first, the payoff can be huge as long as they end up doing it right.

Will this be a part of the next generation of consoles?

The next generation of consoles is coming. Based on what they showed, the PS5 is going to load levels a lot faster, so the processing power will be much improved (you can read more about Sony’s PlayStation 5 Specs). And we can expect the new Xbox to be just as good as well. Both new consoles are set to arrive in 2020 according to the latest estimates. It definitely makes a lot of sense for Microsoft and Sony to work together. Microsoft does have Azure and this is a great platform for cloud services that can be adapted to gaming. Will it work well for gaming? That depends, but what we do know is that customers will be able to use it rather soon. We do expect Sony to customize its own service despite using the Azure platform from Microsoft. But it’s nice to see both companies realize that it’s beneficial for them to work together in order to reach greater heights of success.

Gaming Featured Customer of the Week – Donn

For the first week in May, we are featuring Donn from Trinidad & Tobago! We sent him some questions to learn a bit about what he loves most about gaming and how he’s using our PSN Cards.

How old are you, and where are you located?

I’m 29 years old, and I’m from the Caribbean. Trinidad & Tobago to be exact.

Tell us something special or unique about where you live, or why you like it?

Trinidad is a very diverse, multi-cultured mix of races: Indians(indo-trinis), African(afro-trinis), first people(the natives). We also have a few migrants like the Venezuelans, Jamaicans, Asians. With this diversity in culture there comes with all sorts of different kinds of foods that have come with each ethnic group. That’s what I think I like most about where I live. Something else that’s unique is that we have a lot of holidays (19 public holidays and a few observances), so we party a lot.

What kind of system/console are you gaming on? (Generation, Tech specs, etc)

PlayStation 4

What is your gamer tag?

starboy_swagg

How long have you been gaming?

As long as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for it, so I would say awhile!

What was your first video game? Tell us your favorite story about it.Gaming Thumbnail

The first video game I played was Nintendo. However, the 1st video game I owned was a poly station, it was one of those bootleg systems with the built in Nintendo games.

What games do you currently play?

FIFA 19, NBA Live 19, Need For Speed, just to name a few…

How much time do you currently spend gaming?

Most of the time I play on the weekends, and whenever I’m not exhausted from work.

Have you entered any gaming competitions? If so, which ones?

No

What in your opinion makes for a good video game?

A great story line for adventure games, sports movement, and reality of players. Also, good graphics etc.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite?

Doesn’t really matter, but if I have to choose it would be console.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment?

Umm..I don’t really know.

Why do you use MyGiftCardSupply to purchase gift cards?

I use it because it’s the only way I can purchase anything on the PS4 online store. I also like that I get the gift cards quickly and don’t have to wait days.

What other things interest you, besides gaming?

Joinery/woodworking, movies, parties etc.

Sony Reveals PlayStation 5 Details

We all like the idea of playing games on our favorite console, and getting PlayStation gift cards to acquire more games is always a plus. But Sony is also thinking about the future of gaming, and now they are preparing the PlayStation 5. We still don’t know when the console will arrive, but Sony recently shared some characteristics we might be able to expect.

8K graphics support

Sony is claiming that PS5 will support 8K graphics. But since current consoles, even the PS4 Pro barely support full 4K, it’s hard to see 8K support from a console. If anything, it might be upscaled to something more than 4K graphics. At the same time, it’s still nice to see that they are thinking about a substantial improvement. And while you’re waiting for better graphics with the PS5, you can always have some fun with PlayStations virtual reality games.

3D audioPS5 Thumbnail

3D audio is expected from Sony which is great in the audio department. It’s hard to know if other products from them will use this tech, but it’s something nice to have either way. We’ll see if this actually comes to fruition once the console comes out on the market.

SSD integration

Games are requiring more and more space, and as we know SSDs are expensive. So we are not entirely sure how much storage we will get, but having an SSD in there is certainly helpful. This means more data processed quicker, higher FPS, and a great gameplay experience as a whole.

Backwards compatibility

Sony said they are not doing this with the PS3, but they will offer backwards compatibility with the PS4 when the PS5 arrives. It’s a nice thing to have, especially since many of the PS4 games run great on 4K anyway and are optimized for such a resolution. There are no words yet on the media features, or what games might come out when the PS5 launches. Some stated that Cyberpunk 2077, the Elder Scrolls VI, and other games will be launched when the console arrives. A lot of people are worried about the price as the aforementioned features seem to point towards expensive hardware. But that might not be the case. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s safe to say that this will definitely be a great console!
