How to Redeem a Spotify Gift Card
To redeem a Spotify gift card, go to spotify.com/redeem, sign in to your Spotify account, and enter the code exactly as shown. The value is added as Premium subscription time on an Individual plan — if you already have Premium, it extends your subscription. Your account and the card must be set to the same country.
Where to Redeem Your Spotify Code
Spotify gift cards are redeemed in one place — the web redeem page. There’s no in-app redemption, so you can’t enter the code inside the Spotify mobile app; use a browser instead. The code is applied to the Spotify account you sign in with, and the card’s country has to match that account.
On the Web (spotify.com/redeem)
Use any browser on a phone or computer. You need an existing Spotify account — free or Premium — signed in before the code will apply.
- Go to spotify.com/redeem and sign in to your Spotify account.
- Confirm your account country matches the gift card’s country — you can check this in your account settings.
- On a physical card, gently scratch off the panel to reveal the full code.
- Enter the code exactly as shown and select Redeem.
- Premium time is added immediately; if you already have Premium, it extends your renewal date.
If a mobile browser redirects you to the Spotify app without a redeem option, switch the browser to desktop mode and reload the page to finish on the web.
What a Spotify Gift Card Adds to Your Account
A Spotify gift card isn’t a wallet balance — it converts directly into Premium subscription time. Premium gives ad-free listening, offline downloads, and on-demand playback. If you’re on the free tier, redeeming a card starts an Individual Premium plan; if you already pay for Premium through Spotify, the gift card extends your subscription rather than adding spendable credit.
Gift cards only fund the Individual Premium plan — they don’t apply to Premium Family, Duo, or Student. You can also stack only up to 18 months of Premium time on one account at a time, so a card won’t redeem if it would push you past that limit. Treat it as prepaid months on one personal Spotify account.

Why Your Spotify Gift Card Code Isn’t Working
Spotify gift card failures almost always come down to country, the type of Premium plan, or how your subscription is billed. Match what you saw to the section below before contacting support.
The card’s country doesn’t match your account
Spotify gift cards are region-locked, and the card only redeems on an account whose country matches where the card was bought. Check the country in your Spotify account settings against the card’s region. If they differ, use a card issued for your account’s country — Spotify validates this at redemption.
Your plan isn’t an Individual Premium plan
Gift cards fund only the Individual Premium plan. If your account is on Premium Family, Duo, or Student, the code won’t apply. To use a gift card, you’d need to be on — or switch to — an Individual Premium plan.
“Can’t apply this Premium code” — third-party billing
If your Premium is billed through a third party such as Apple, Google, or a mobile carrier, Spotify can’t add gift card time on top of that arrangement. You’ll need to cancel the third-party billing and let the subscription run through Spotify directly before a gift card will redeem.
You’ve hit the 18-month Premium cap
Spotify lets you stack at most 18 months of prepaid Premium time on one account. If redeeming the card would put you over 18 months, it’s declined — wait until your balance of Premium time drops below the cap, then redeem.
The code is invalid, or your account is temporarily locked
Enter the code exactly as shown and watch for look-alike characters, such as a “0” read as an “O”. After several wrong attempts Spotify temporarily locks redemption for about 24 hours. A retail card also has to be activated by the cashier at purchase. If a digital card from MyGiftCardSupply won’t take, contact MyGiftCardSupply support with your order number.
