Redeem guide
How to Redeem a Prepaid Mastercard Gift Card
Turn your voucher code into a working virtual Mastercard
This card arrives as a voucher code, not as a card number. You redeem the code to a Rewarble balance first, then issue the virtual Mastercard — number, CVV and expiry — from that balance.
Code format
Enter all 16 digits of the voucher code — not the card number you receive later.
Jump to redeem stepsHow to Redeem a Prepaid Mastercard Gift Card
To redeem a prepaid Mastercard gift card, go to rewarble.com/redeem, enter your email address and the 16-digit voucher code, and select Redeem Now. The value lands in your Rewarble balance within about a minute, and from there you issue a virtual Mastercard with its own card number, CVV, and expiry date.
From Voucher Code to Working Card: The Three Stages
This card is redeemed entirely in a web browser — there is no app to install and no plastic in the post. The code you received is a voucher, not a card number, so it goes through three stages: redeem it to your Rewarble balance, issue the virtual Mastercard from that balance, then spend the card wherever Mastercard is accepted.
Stage 1 — Redeem the Voucher Code
Start here regardless of which currency card you bought. The email address you enter owns the balance, so use one you can access.
- Go to rewarble.com/redeem.
- Enter the email address you want the balance linked to.
- Enter your 16-digit voucher code exactly as it appears in your delivery email, including any dashes.
- Select Redeem Now. The full value is added to your Rewarble balance.
- If you are asked to verify your identity, complete that step — the balance is released once verification clears.
Most top-ups appear instantly, but allow up to 10 minutes before treating a missing balance as a failure.
Stage 2 — Issue Your Virtual Mastercard
The balance on its own is not yet a card. This stage converts it into a real Mastercard credential you can type into a checkout.
- From your Rewarble balance, select Mastercard from the list of available rewards.
- Choose your card configuration — with or without 3D Secure, and with or without Apple Pay and Google Pay support.
- Enter your name and billing address. Use the address your card statements or bills go to.
- Confirm the card amount and issue the card.
- Your virtual Mastercard appears immediately with its own 16-digit card number, security code, and expiry date.
Choose 3D Secure if you shop with merchants that demand bank verification at checkout; choose without it if you mainly buy from merchants that do not.
Stage 3 — Spend the Card
From this point the card behaves like any other Mastercard, and the original voucher code has no further use.
- At checkout, enter the card number, expiry date, and security code from your issued card — never the voucher code.
- Enter the same billing address you registered when you issued the card.
- For in-store payments, add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay if you enabled that option.
- Top the same card up again from a new voucher whenever the balance runs low — the card number stays the same.
What a Prepaid Mastercard Actually Buys
Because the issued card is a genuine Mastercard credential rather than store credit, it works at merchants that accept Mastercard — online checkouts, subscription billing, app stores, and travel bookings among them. There is no bank account to open and no credit check to pass, which is what makes it useful for shoppers who want to pay online without exposing a personal bank card.
It is not a bank account and not a credit line. You can only spend what the card holds, and a purchase larger than the remaining balance is declined outright rather than partially approved. Unlike a single-use retail card, this one is reloadable: adding another voucher tops up the same card number instead of creating a second card.
- Use it for: online checkouts, subscriptions and recurring billing, app-store purchases, and contactless payments through Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- Best match: someone who wants a Mastercard number for online spending without linking a personal bank card.
Why Your Prepaid Mastercard Isn’t Working
Problems with this product split cleanly into two groups: the voucher code failing at redemption, and the issued card being declined at a merchant. Identify which stage you are stuck at before troubleshooting, because the fixes are unrelated.
You entered the voucher code at a store checkout
This is the most common failure and it is not a fault with the card. The 16-digit voucher code is not a payment credential and no merchant will accept it. Redeem it at rewarble.com/redeem first, issue the virtual Mastercard, and then use the card number that appears there at checkout.
The voucher code is rejected as invalid
A single misread character is usually the cause — a capital “O” read as a zero, a missing dash, or a trailing space picked up when copying. Paste the code directly from your delivery email rather than retyping it. If it still fails, contact MyGiftCardSupply support with your order number and we will check the code’s status.
Your balance hasn’t appeared yet
Most redemptions credit instantly, but processing can lag by a few minutes. Wait a full 10 minutes and refresh before assuming the redemption failed. If Rewarble has asked you to verify your identity, the balance stays held until that verification clears — this is a regulatory requirement, not a sign the code was bad.
The issued card is declined at checkout
Check the billing address first: a mismatch between the address you registered when issuing the card and the one you type at checkout is a routine decline trigger. After that, confirm the purchase total is within the remaining balance, since these cards decline rather than part-pay. If the merchant demands bank verification and you issued the card without 3D Secure, that transaction will not go through.
The option you want isn’t offered in your country
Card configuration options and payout methods vary by region, and not every choice is available everywhere. If the configuration you expected is missing, pick a supported one for your location or check Rewarble’s support pages for what is offered where you are.
Where to Buy a Prepaid Mastercard Gift Card Online
Most people looking for another one have already spent the balance on a card they liked and want to top it back up — which works, because reloading keeps the same card number rather than issuing a new one. Others land here mid-research, comparing a virtual card against a retail prepaid card before buying.
MyGiftCardSupply delivers the voucher code by email, so you can redeem it and issue a card the same day you order. Buy a US prepaid Mastercard gift card online, or choose the UK pound or euro version — the redemption flow above is identical for all three, and only the currency of the balance changes.
