Redeem guide
How to Redeem a PlayStation Gift Card
PS5, PS4, web, or the PlayStation App — and how to fix a code that won't redeem
Sony accepts the same 12-digit code on four surfaces, all tied to one PlayStation account and its store region. Pick the one you already have open and follow the steps below.
How to Redeem a PlayStation Gift Card
To redeem a PlayStation gift card, sign in to your PlayStation account at store.playstation.com, open the profile menu, select Redeem Code, and enter the 12-digit code. The funds land in your PSN wallet within seconds and apply to anything in the PlayStation Store registered to the same region as the card.
Four Ways to Redeem Your PlayStation Gift Card Code
Sony accepts the 12-digit code on four surfaces: a PS5 console, a PS4 console, the web, or the PlayStation App on your phone. The funds always land in the same place — the PSN wallet of the account you are signed in to — so use whichever surface you already have open. The account’s store region must match the region the card was issued for.
On a PS5 Console
Redeeming on the console is the fastest path when you are already signed in and playing. The PS5 attaches the funds to the account active on the system.
- From the PS5 home screen, select PlayStation Store.
- Press the triangle button to open the menu, then select Redeem Code (under the … More option).
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Redeem.
- Confirm to add the funds to your PSN wallet, then select Download if the code unlocks content.
Check the account avatar in the top-right before you redeem — the funds attach to whichever account is signed in and cannot be moved afterward.
On a PS4 Console
The PS4 flow lives in the same PlayStation Store, but the Redeem option sits at the bottom of the side menu rather than behind the triangle button.
- From the PS4 home screen, open PlayStation Store.
- Scroll to the bottom of the left sidebar and select Redeem Codes.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Continue, then Confirm.
- The funds are added to your wallet; select Download if the code unlocks content.
On the Web (store.playstation.com)
The web flow works from any browser and is the shortest path when you are not in front of a console. It uses the same account and wallet as your PlayStation system.
- Go to store.playstation.com and sign in to your PlayStation account.
- Select your profile picture at the top of the page, then choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Continue.
- Confirm — the credit or content applies to your account automatically.
Make sure you are signed in to the account you actually play on before you submit the code; Sony does not move wallet funds between accounts after redemption.
In the PlayStation App
The PlayStation App on iPhone and Android can redeem codes directly, which is handy when the card is in hand but the console is off.
- Open the PlayStation App, sign in, and tap the PS Store icon.
- Tap the menu icon on the right side of the screen.
- Select Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Continue to add the funds to your wallet.
What a PlayStation Gift Card Balance Buys
Once the code is redeemed, the value sits in your PSN wallet as store credit and spends like prepaid currency across the PlayStation Store. Use it for full PS5 and PS4 game downloads, downloadable content and expansions, in-game currency and add-ons, PlayStation Plus memberships, and movie or TV purchases in the regions where that catalog is available.
The wallet balance is store credit only — it does not pay for hardware, it is not transferable to another account, and it cannot be cashed out. Subscription vouchers such as PlayStation Plus are time-based codes rather than wallet funds, so they apply differently from a standard gift card.
- Use it for: games, DLC, in-game currency, PlayStation Plus, and movies in the PlayStation Store.
- Best match: a player who wants to add PlayStation Store funds without putting a card on file or using a foreign payment method.
Troubleshooting PlayStation Gift Card Redemption
Almost every PlayStation redemption failure traces back to the region of the account, the state of the code, or a typo. Match what you saw on screen to the section below before contacting support.
The card’s region doesn’t match your account
PlayStation gift cards are issued for one PlayStation Store region, and Sony checks that region against the country set on your account at redemption. A card from a different region is declined even if you are physically in that country. The card’s region is printed on the voucher — redeem it on an account registered to the same region, or buy a card that matches your account.
You can’t change your account’s region
The PlayStation Store region is locked to your account the moment you create it and cannot be changed on PS5 or PS4. If your card and account regions don’t match, the practical fix is a separate account registered to the card’s region, signed in with its own email — not editing the existing account.
“This code has already been used”
Each 12-digit code redeems once. If the store says it has already been used, check the wallet transaction history on the account — a redeemed code shows there. If you bought the card from MyGiftCardSupply and never redeemed it, contact MyGiftCardSupply support with your order number; codes are verified before delivery and replacements are handled on the seller side.
The code is invalid or won’t enter
This is usually a misread digit. The code is exactly 12 characters; on a physical card, scratch the panel fully with a coin so no digit is hidden, and watch for an “O” entered as a “0” or a stray space. Re-enter it carefully — for a digital card, copy and paste it straight from the delivery email.
The voucher has expired
Standard wallet gift cards do not expire, but some promotional and PlayStation Plus subscription vouchers carry an expiration date printed on the voucher. If a dated code is past its deadline it will be rejected, and PlayStation does not reinstate expired promotional codes.
Get Another PlayStation Gift Card
Most people come back for a second PlayStation gift card for one of three reasons: they spent the funds from the first card, they need a different store region than the one their account is registered to, or an overseas payment card was declined at PlayStation Store checkout. A gift card solves all three without adding a new payment method to the account.
Buy a PlayStation gift card online from MyGiftCardSupply — PSN codes are delivered by email for the region you choose, so you can redeem the same day you order and add funds to your wallet within minutes.
