How to Redeem a League of Legends Gift Card
Add RP on the web or in the PC client — and how to clear a region-locked code
A League of Legends gift card is a region-locked Riot prepaid code. Redeem it on the web or inside the PC client, pick League of Legends as the game, and the value lands as RP. Use whichever surface you already have open.
Turn Your League of Legends Gift Card Into RP
To redeem a League of Legends gift card, go to shop.riotgames.com/redeem, enter the code, sign in to the Riot account you want to fund, and select League of Legends as the game. The value lands as Riot Points (RP) on that account, ready to spend on champions, skins, and other in-game content.
Redeem on the Web or Inside the PC Client
League of Legends cash codes redeem in two places, both on PC: Riot’s web redemption page and the League client itself. Either way you choose League of Legends as the game, and the value is added as RP on your Riot account. These codes do not redeem on mobile.
On the Web (shop.riotgames.com/redeem)
The web page is the quickest route and works in any browser, though the RP still lands on the PC account you sign in with.
- Go to shop.riotgames.com/redeem and enter your code exactly as it appears.
- Sign in to the Riot account you want to fund if you are prompted.
- Select League of Legends as the game where the code should apply.
- Review the summary page and confirm to add the RP to your account.
Check which Riot account you are signed in to before you confirm — the full value attaches to that one account and game and cannot be moved or split afterward.
In the League of Legends PC Client
Redeem from inside the game when you are already logged in and want the RP on hand right away.
- Log in to your account in the League of Legends client.
- Select the P next to your currency balance in the top-right corner.
- Choose Prepaid Cards and Codes.
- Enter the code exactly as it appears, ticking the consent box if your region shows one.
- Click Submit to add the RP to your account.
RP usually appears instantly, but Riot notes it can take up to 24 hours in some cases — wait a full day before assuming a code has failed.
What RP From a League of Legends Gift Card Buys
Once the code is redeemed, the value sits on your account as Riot Points — Riot’s premium currency for League of Legends. Spend RP on champions, champion skins, ward skins, emotes, the Battle Pass, Little Legends in Teamfight Tactics, and other content in the in-client store.
RP is not the same as Blue Essence, the free currency you earn by playing, and it cannot be converted back to cash or transferred to another account. A League of Legends gift card also funds the PC game only — it does not top up Wild Rift or any other mobile title.
- Use it for: champions, skins, emotes, the Battle Pass, and Teamfight Tactics content.
- Won’t work for: Wild Rift mobile, cash withdrawals, or transfers to another Riot account.
Why Your League of Legends Code Isn’t Working
Riot prepaid codes fail for a short, predictable list of reasons. Match the message you saw to the item below before opening a ticket with Riot Support.
Your code is region-locked to a different area
Riot cash codes can only be redeemed in the region where they were purchased, and Riot checks the code’s region against your account’s region at redemption. A United States code redeems on US accounts plus Canada, Australia, and New Zealand; a European code stays within Europe. If the regions don’t match, redeem on an account in the code’s home region or use a card issued for your region.
“Invalid code”
This is usually a typo or an extra space — enter the code exactly as printed, with no spaces, and watch for look-alike characters. On a physical card, an “invalid code” error can also mean the card was never activated at the register, in which case you would need to take it back to the store.
“This code has already been redeemed”
The code has already been applied to a Riot account and cannot be used again. Riot cannot recover a code that was redeemed on another account or shared. If you bought the card from MyGiftCardSupply and have not redeemed it yourself, contact MyGiftCardSupply support with your order number for a replacement.
The code won’t redeem on your phone
Riot cash codes redeem only in the PC versions of its games. There is no mobile redemption path, and the value cannot be added to Wild Rift. Use the web page on a computer or the League of Legends PC client instead.
Your RP hasn’t appeared yet
Redemption is normally instant, but Riot allows up to 24 hours for the RP to post in rare cases. If the redeem page confirmed success but you don’t see the balance, restart the client and give it a day before treating the code as failed.
