How to Redeem a Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Card
Redeem on the web, then pick the platform where you play
A V-Bucks card is redeemed at fortnite.com/vbuckscard with your Epic Games account — never inside the game. The platform you choose is where the V-Bucks land, so read the steps below before you confirm.

Quick Answer: Redeeming Your Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Card
To redeem a Fortnite V-Bucks gift card, go to fortnite.com/vbuckscard, sign in with your Epic Games account, enter the PIN from the back of the card with no dashes, and choose the platform where you play. The V-Bucks land in that platform’s wallet within moments and are ready to spend in Fortnite. You cannot redeem the code inside the game itself.
Where to Redeem Your Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Card
Every V-Bucks card is redeemed in one place — the Epic Games website at fortnite.com/vbuckscard — using your Epic Games account. The one decision that matters is the platform you select, because that choice is where the V-Bucks are credited. PlayStation, Xbox, PC, mobile, and cloud gaming share a single Fortnite wallet, so V-Bucks sent to any of those are usable across all of them; a Nintendo Switch keeps its V-Bucks on Switch only.
On the Web (fortnite.com/vbuckscard)
This is the core redemption flow and works from any browser on a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. It is the only place a V-Bucks card code is actually entered.
- Go to fortnite.com/vbuckscard and select Get Started.
- Sign in with the Epic Games account you use to play Fortnite.
- Enter the PIN code from the back of the card (or your delivery email) with no dashes, then select Next.
- Choose the platform where you want the V-Bucks credited — only platforms already linked to your Epic account appear here.
- Confirm. The full card value is applied to that platform’s wallet and is ready to spend in Fortnite.
The platform you pick is permanent for that card — Epic deducts the full face value at once and attaches it to the platform you select, so confirm you chose the right one before finishing.
On Xbox or PlayStation (the secondary-code step)
If you choose Xbox or PlayStation as your platform, Epic does not credit the wallet directly — it generates a one-time secondary code that you finish redeeming on your console account. Do this step immediately so the V-Bucks actually arrive.
- Complete the web steps above and select Xbox or PlayStation as your platform.
- Copy the secondary code Epic displays on screen — a 25-character code for Xbox or a 12-digit code for PlayStation.
- On Xbox, enter that code through Redeem code or gift cards on your Microsoft account; on PlayStation, redeem it in the PlayStation Store on your Sony account.
- Launch Fortnite on that console — the V-Bucks now appear in your account.
Your Epic Games account must be linked to your Microsoft or Sony account before the console will show up as a platform option; if it is not linked, link it first and then redeem.
What You Can Buy with Fortnite V-Bucks
V-Bucks are Fortnite’s in-game currency, spent in the Item Shop and the Fortnite ecosystem. Use them on outfits and skins, gliders, pickaxes, emotes, wraps, the Battle Pass and Fortnite Crew, and bundles — and across the wider Epic catalog, V-Bucks redeemed to a Shared Wallet platform also work toward Rocket League and LEGO Fortnite content tied to the same account.
A V-Bucks card is not Epic Games store credit for buying other games, and it is not a payment method for hardware or subscriptions billed outside Fortnite. It funds one account’s Fortnite wallet on the platform you selected at redemption.
- Use it for: skins, the Battle Pass, Fortnite Crew, emotes, bundles, and Item Shop cosmetics.
- Best match: a player who wants to top up V-Bucks without putting a card on file, then spend them in-game.
Why Your Fortnite V-Bucks Card Isn’t Working
Most V-Bucks redemption problems trace back to where or how the code was entered, not to the card itself. Match the symptom below to its fix before contacting support.
You’re trying to redeem inside the Fortnite game
V-Bucks cards cannot be entered in the Fortnite game client — there is no in-game redeem screen for them. Start at fortnite.com/vbuckscard in a web browser, sign in to your Epic account, and enter the PIN there. The V-Bucks then appear in-game on the platform you selected.
The platform you want isn’t in the list
Only platforms already linked to your Epic Games account appear as redemption options. If your console or PC is missing, your accounts aren’t connected yet. Link the platform to your Epic account first, then return to fortnite.com/vbuckscard and choose it.
V-Bucks didn’t arrive after picking Xbox or PlayStation
Choosing a console generates a secondary code — a 25-character code for Xbox or a 12-digit code for PlayStation — that you must still redeem on your Microsoft or Sony account to finish. If you closed the page without entering it, the V-Bucks haven’t landed yet. Enter that secondary code on the matching console account to complete the redemption.
“This code is invalid”
This is almost always a typo or an unactivated card. Re-enter the PIN with no dashes, ideally pasted straight from the delivery email. If it still fails, the card may not have been activated at the point of sale — codes from MyGiftCardSupply are checked before delivery, so contact MyGiftCardSupply support with your order number for a replacement.
Wrong region — a flag on the card
Some V-Bucks cards are region-locked, shown by a flag printed in the upper-left corner of the card. A flagged card only redeems when your Epic Games account or platform account is registered to the matching region. Use a card without a regional flag, or one issued for your account’s region.
Where to Buy a Fortnite V-Bucks Gift Card Online
Players come back for another V-Bucks card after spending the first one on a Battle Pass or Item Shop drop, or when a payment card gets declined at Epic checkout. A gift card adds V-Bucks to your account without saving a new payment method on file.
