Two Ways to Redeem Your Aeropostale Gift Card
An Aeropostale gift card works in two places: at online checkout on aeropostale.com and in person at any Aeropostale store in the United States or Puerto Rico. The card is a bearer instrument — the balance lives on the card itself and is drawn down per purchase, not loaded into an account.
At Checkout on aeropostale.com
Use this surface when you are shopping the website. You need the 19-digit gift card number and the 4-digit PIN, found under the scratch-off panel on the back of a physical card or printed in the e-gift email.
- Go to aeropostale.com and add the items you want to your cart.
- Proceed to checkout and continue through your contact details and billing address to the payment step.
- Select REDEEM GIFT CARD and enter your gift card number and PIN.
- Choose Apply to deduct the balance from your order total.
- Pay any remaining amount with another payment method and place your order.
If your order total is more than the card balance, the card covers what it can and the rest is charged to your second payment method — the gift card does not need to cover the full amount.
In an Aeropostale Store
Aeropostale gift cards are accepted at any store in the United States or Puerto Rico. A PIN is not required for in-store use, so a card with a scratched or missing PIN still works at the register.
- Bring your items to the register and tell the cashier you are paying with a gift card.
- Hand over the physical card, or show the barcode from your e-gift card on your phone, for the cashier to scan.
- If the scanner cannot read it, ask the cashier to key in the gift card number manually.
- The balance is applied to your purchase; settle any remaining total with another payment method.
Keep the card after a partial purchase — the remaining balance stays on it for next time, and you can check what is left at the register or on the gift card balance page.
Why Your Aeropostale Gift Card Isn’t Working
Online redemption failures almost always trace back to the card number or PIN. Match the message you saw to the cases below before assuming the card is bad — most are fixed by re-entering the digits or switching to in-store use.
“Invalid Gift Card and/or PIN”
This error means the 19-digit card number or the 4-digit PIN did not match. Re-enter both carefully, scratch off the panel fully to read the complete PIN, and watch for digits that look alike. Copy the values directly from your e-gift email rather than retyping when possible.
The card has no PIN
Older or store-issued cards sometimes have no PIN, which means they cannot be used online — only in store. Take the card to any Aeropostale store and ask to exchange it for a new card with a PIN, then you can use it on aeropostale.com.
Transposed or mistyped digits
A single swapped or dropped digit in the long card number will be rejected at checkout. Slow down and verify the full 19-digit number against the card, then re-enter the PIN and select Apply again.
