Gaming Customer of the Week – Ramonette

This week, we are featuring Ramonette from the Carribean! We sent her some questions to learn a bit about what she loves most about gaming, and how she’s using our Xbox and PSN cards.

I’m in my 30’s and live in the Caribbean.

Tell us something special or unique about where you live, or why you like it? 

I live on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic. It’s a close knit community and full of culture. It’s unique living here.

Super Mario. Playing with my good friend who I am still best friends with now.

NBA, Jurassic World Evolution and Red Dead Redemption.

20 hours a week, if I’m lucky.

What in your opinion makes for a good video game? 

The story and purpose behind a mission.

What are your thoughts on Console gaming vs. PC gaming vs. Mobile gaming? Do you have a favorite? 

I find them all equally interesting as they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. My favorite however, would be console games.

What feature would you like to see added to the current gaming environment? 

More VR games.

Microsoft planning second next-gen Xbox that’s more affordable

We are all expecting a new console from Microsoft next year, but the most important aspect is that they are seemingly releasing a second one also. We should all prepare our Xbox cards because apparently they’re going to release all kinds of cool stuff and that you’re sure to be impressed with

The main Scarlett console is named Anaconda

The Anaconda is set to be very powerful and lots of new games are expected to be created around it. The most important aspect around this console is that it’llXbox Thumbnail take the next generation to new heights and will also push the boundaries in some really fun and interesting ways. However, the second console simply won’t be as powerful. It will be named Lockhart and this console will target 1440p instead of 4k which is what the Scarlett is focused on. It’s still a great aspect and it will surely come with its fair share of benefits. The idea here is to constantly try and push the boundaries to make things more immersive and certainly a lot more appealing. And considering this, we might be able to expect something like that sooner rather than later.

Will it be cheaper?

Anaconda, the main console, we assume will be pretty expensive, and Lockhart will be much more affordable. We can expect Lockhart to still have a next generation CPU, which is amazing. And it might even have an SSD too. There are also rumors of a potential subscription system, but who knows if that will happen. Microsoft is expected to come out with Xbox bundles for Scarlett. One thing is certain, preparing your Xbox cards to enjoy these new consoles will really pay off. The fact that there will be two Xbox consoles means that you’re sure to love at least one of them!

Xbox bundles are back for the new Project Scarlett

We are ready to have a new Xbox in roughly 12 months, so preparing your Xbox cards is a great idea. It’s an important thing to consider, but then again there might be too many options which is why the Xbox bundles are back and are ready for the new Project Scarlett Xbox that will launch next year.

What does this mean?

Microsoft is not bringing back the Xbox All Access bundle for the holidays. This is a bundle splitting the cost of an Xbox One console, the game pass, and Live over 24 months. This means you can get the X or S consoles with the game pass for as little as $19.99 per month.Xbox Thumbnail Image This monthly based bundle has the S console with 2 years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The Xbox One S bundle will be $22.99 over 24 months, the X version will be $30.99 per month. Either way these are great deals that are totally worth checking out.

Special offer for the Scarlett upgrade

Microsoft is also adding a special upgrade for the X bundle, in which you can upgrade to the Project Scarlett in 12 months. Being able to buy an X version through this program and then upgrade to the Project Scarlett when it comes out is something that could be appealing. If you add up the costs, you’ll notice that you will be saving a little bit of money, spreading your payments, and also acquiring the upgrade to the Scarlett for free. Normally that’s not possible, you just get the console and the passes, and then you live with them. That’s what really makes the Xbox bundles so good, because even if you don’t really play a whole lot of games on the X that you want to buy, the fact that you’re upgraded to the new console is pretty great. Microsoft knows the Black Friday sales are coming, so they prepared this announcement beforehand. Console sales have plummeted since people know new consoles are coming next year. So this is a great way to sell consoles and give their customers a deal.

Convert your Xbox Live subscription into Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox launched the Game Pass on PC, but at the same time it also created the Game Pass Ultimate. The Game Pass Ultimate has the Game Pass Xbox (the one for PC) and also Xbox Live all wrapped into one package. You can purchase it for $14.99 a month. If you were to buy them all separately, it would cost you double that much. If you’re already using Xbox cards and you’re the kind of person that likes to read a lot, then the Xbox Live experience is definitely one you’ll want to check out.

Can you save even more?

Right now the Game Pass for PC is in Beta, and the cool thing is that you can get the One Month Trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. Another option is to purchase 36 months of Xbox Live Gold service in advance. At this time, you can activate the $1 trial which means you can convert the future months of service to the Game Pass Ultimate. The idea here is that you’ll need to stack these up and instead of just doing 3 years of Xbox Live Gold for $181, you’ll convert this to Game Pass Ultimate which would normally cost you around $540.Xbox Thumbnail Image

How can you do this?

Ideally, you’ll want to buy the Xbox Live Gold Subscription. It’s a good idea to opt for the 12 month increments, especially if you can find them on sale. You’ll want to add this to your account. Once you get that, you’ll be able to take advantage of the $1 Game Pass Trial. And it will automatically convert the Xbox Live time that you have into Game Pass Ultimate. It’s a really good way to save some money. The best part is that you can actually play games on your PC, or share your Windows Xbox account with a friend. One thing to keep in mind is that the offer is only for a limited time, so don’t waste any time!  

Microsoft & Sony Teaming up for Gaming

Although Microsoft and Sony are known to compete with their consoles in the gaming world, the reality is that they both have similar interests. And we have an announcement that will make you want to buy some PSN cards and Xbox cards. Apparently, both companies are looking to collaborate in order to create some future cloud solutions. The announcement of Google Stadia seems to imply that Google wants to enter the video game world, and both Microsoft and Sony might be scared by the competition. Still, having a collaboration between these two companies that we always saw as rivals is quite unexpected. We do expect them to clash as they work with one another, but for now it seems that they both have a great goal in sight.

Why is Sony working with Microsoft? Don’t they have their own cloud gaming platform?

Sony has had its PlayStation for a long time, but the platform isn’t too powerful. They don’t have a cloud Xbox & PlayStation Thumbnailinfrastructure like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google have. So they had to rely on working with Microsoft to get this project started. It’s definitely not the simplest thing out there, but it does push the boundaries a bit and that’s the thing that really matters, especially in a situation like this. Through this deal, Sony gets to work with Microsoft to boost its cloud system and even leverage the Azure technology. None of the companies have native streaming services right now, and that’s a shame because there are many challenges that come from that. But the game libraries are there, everything is in place aside from good technology that will help with cloud gaming. And while that might not seem easy to do at first, the payoff can be huge as long as they end up doing it right.

Will this be a part of the next generation of consoles?

The next generation of consoles is coming. Based on what they showed, the PS5 is going to load levels a lot faster, so the processing power will be much improved (you can read more about Sony’s PlayStation 5 Specs). And we can expect the new Xbox to be just as good as well. Both new consoles are set to arrive in 2020 according to the latest estimates. It definitely makes a lot of sense for Microsoft and Sony to work together. Microsoft does have Azure and this is a great platform for cloud services that can be adapted to gaming. Will it work well for gaming? That depends, but what we do know is that customers will be able to use it rather soon. We do expect Sony to customize its own service despite using the Azure platform from Microsoft. But it’s nice to see both companies realize that it’s beneficial for them to work together in order to reach greater heights of success.

Xbox One vs. Playstation 4

This next-gen of consoles has been quite an interesting thing for a lot of people. Being able to have both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 compete against each other has certainly been great for customers. Each console has different desirable characteristics, so you’ll have to decide which one will work best for you and your own unique gaming experience.

Great consoles with tons of value

Both the PS4 and the Xbox One have managed to bring in lots of value. The PS4 has sold very well, in fact it’s a solid best seller currently, and is one of the best sellers in console history. But it does have its fair share of downsides. One of them being that there’s no backwards compatibility. Xbox does allow you to play older games, PS4 does not, and that means you have to buy all new games for the PS4 since you can’t play any of the old games on it. That can certainly be inconvenient, to say the least. But PlayStation does do a good job of coming up with creative and impressive core ideas in order for you to have a great gaming experience.

The positive thing is that you can still use PlayStation and Xbox gift cards to get the games you want. There is no reason this would change in the future, which is nice to know. PlayStation does have some of the coolest exclusives out there, but Xbox isn’t too far behind. Still, the quality of many of PlayStation’s games is impressive, and that could be why a lot of people lean towards purchasing this particular console instead of the Xbox One.

Xbox has a system that comes with a game pass, and for a small amount you get to play some awesome games. New games can be played immediately if you have a pass, and the cool thing is that you also have the opportunity to try games out without having to purchase them. PlayStation doesn’t offer anything like this, but as mentioned earlier, their user experience is noticeably better. You can also play the games you bought on Windows on an Xbox One. Granted, it’s only for some Windows games, not all of them. But when you rarely have console exclusives on PC, this approach is a breath of fresh air. Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are winners for different reasons. Remember that buying PlayStation gift cards gets you access to US digital merchandise and Xbox gift cards are always a fun gift for your gaming friends and family. At the end of the day, you have a plethora of cool games to play on each console. You simply have to weigh the pros and cons of each console to see which one fits your needs best. 

Apex Legends – Why You Should Play it

Battle Royale games are extremely popular right now because they bring a sense of competition and strategy each time you play. And even if you lose, there’s always a reason to come back and try again. Games like Fortnite and the newly launched Apex Legends offer a massive world map whose livable space decreases bit by bit so only a single person is able to win.

How Fortnite is Changing the Gaming Industry

Fortnite. If you haven’t heard about Fortnite the game, you have to be living under a rock. Cliches aside, there can be no denying that this game has changed the gaming industry forever. From backpacks to Halloween costumes, Fortnite has become a billion-dollar game in a matter of just a few short years. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Fortnite is how it has managed to gross more than 2017s summer blockbusters Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Wonder Woman in revenue. If you are not familiar, Fortnite is available in two play modes: -“Save The World” -“Battle Royale” The latter is free to download and play, while the former is not. Both game versions have been extremely successful, attracting over 125 million players in less than two years. The question is, how has the free model served the developers of Fortnite? What do you, as a player, need to know about Fortnite’s free model and character upgrades? And how has Fortnite made billions from its free version?
